Are we not indeed preserving life by supporting our fellow humans in the middle east by form of protection? And would you not, if a family or friend was held at gun point sacrifice your own life if it meant that the friend survived? And should we not remember that people have sacrificed their lives for the sake of the gospel? To think inwardly would be to think selfishly. But if you look at the second world war, many soldiers sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom. Can you imagine what would have happened if, half way through WW2 we decided to withdraw all our troops?
The trouble is this, anonymous, if you say every life is sacred, then you mean exactly that.
If you use the veto to stop research, you effectively diminish the battle against human illness and disease; then you are literally killing thousands of people who otherwise might benefit by the research
