Presumably He would be born today for the same reason He was before. I expect the outcome would be similar. However, the circumstances may be different as we would have 2000 more years of unredeamed history to account for. Not sure I want to imagine what today's world would look like without Christ.
I don't think it would be any "better" althoug I am sure it would be different.
