I'd say that we have less to be afraid of than almost any other human beings who have ever lived. Our ailing economy is still the most dynamic on Earth. We don't even notice comforts and luxuries that kings would have killed for a couple hundred years ago.<br /><br />I find that there are a lot of influential voices that are profoundly invested in me being afraid - maybe so I'll support the next war or the next secret prison or the Patriot Act III, I dunno.
