UFO over Knoxville, TN

I was taking a sunset photo tonight - captured a UFO that looks like a Star Trek shuttle over Knoxville, Tennessee.

UFO

It begs a question: if life exists in other planets in the universe, what does that do to the uniqueness of Christianity?

I do not think it possle, if there was life on other planets, God's grace would not be with them, as we are saved through the seed of Adam (Jesus). That is the only reason we are able to come to the Father.

Dear Stushie,
That looks like a nice God-fearing bird to me.

C. S. Lewis' sci-fi Perelandra series explores this topic with great sensitivity.

We've just bought a copy of that series for our church library. I need to go and check them out.

Taylor Caldwell also wrote a book about how God dealls with life on other planets. it's called "Dialogues with the Devil." It's like the Screwtape Letters, only set on a cosmological level. Perhaps some Carl Saganite types should take time to read it, too.

Check out Sparrow and Children of God by Mary Doria Russell.

In these two novels a Jesuit priest travels to another planet with intelligent life and confronts these questions. Its a very interesting read.

The major theme of these novels is the clash of cultures reminiscent of the Jesuit encounters with Native Americans in the New World.

In the world outside the rule of the Presbyterian God, we call those creatures with flapping wings in the sky BIRDS. Put out a bird feeder to watch them up close.

I heard a theory that these strange visitors are from the seed of the fallen angels and that by the time of Noah he and his family were the only "pure" humans left on earth and due to this God cleansed the earth and saved only those of pure blood to repopulate the planet. If these aliens are of an impure breeding of demon with that of human and possibly reptile (Satan did take the form of a snake). Then are we obligated not to try to save these creatures or rather fight them as we fight Satan. If they come down and accept Jesus Christ as the savior of all creation then perhaps I may not worry as much about the different theories out there. If they've been here before they probably don't have good intentions otherwise our cultures would be "blended" more like that of different nations of the world. Why keep yourself secretly hidden away for generations if you mean nothing but peace? I am cautious as I realize that we have SO many times repressed and relocated those on knew frontiers that impede or block "progress". Could these beings be so different from us that they would treat us with equality and dignity from day one? If so then why all the secrecy?
